Your pet has had a full general anaesthetic. Because of this, they may be quieter than usual for 24-48 hours.

A small area of hair may have been clipped on one or both legs for the anaesthetic to be injected.

It is important to allow your pet to recover in a warm and quiet environment. Although they may appear to be bright and alert, it can take 48 hours for the anaesthetic drugs to wear off. Therefore, we recommend you keep your dog on the lead/ cat indoors for this length of time.

A small, light meal such as chicken or tuna may be given tonight as over-feeding may result in your animal vomiting.

We can provide a special easily digested diet (Hills I/D) in tinned form for your convenience. One of our nurses will advise you how much to feed.
