Your pet has had a mild/deep sedation. Although this is not a full anaesthesia your pet may be quieter than usual for 24-48 hours.
A small area of hair may have been clipped on one or both legs for the sedation to be injected.
It is important to allow your pet to recover in a warm and quiet environment. Although they may appear to be bright and alert, it can take 48 hours for the sedation to wear off. Therefore, we recommend you keep your dog on the lead/ cat indoors for this length of time.
A small, light meal such as chicken or tuna may be given tonight as over-feeding may result in your animal vomiting. We can provide you with a recovery pack of tinned easily digested diet (Hills I/D) for your convenience. Our nurses will be able to advise you how much to feed.
